Beatport.com ( Electronic Music Downloads ) asked me to help with an issue they were having. Given some of the challenges and limitations an all Flash app has, users are unable to queue and view music download progress, organize how their downloads are named and where they were saved to. Enter The Beatport Downloader, an Adobe AIR desktop application that syncs directly to a Beatport user’s library to handle all downloads and music organization. The Beatport UI team wireframed the interaction and I created the interface and worked tightly with Real Eyes ( An outsourced development team ) to create skins and maintain design integrity. After creating the application I was asked to create the marketing materials including the application’s desktop icon.
